There is a point at which a young lady has so very much understanding that little makes any good sense. The games of the mind, the mind of the games, the possible potentialities, the potential possibilities, and everything in between can run the most sensible girl into madness.
This is the story of Eliza.
Eliza Marianne Northwood was one of those young ladies with more than a mere touch of sense and wit, having a disdain for the ridiculous and an impatience for the pretentious. Sincere by nature and authentic in spirit, Eliza was respected and honored by her elders, though seldom noticed by her peers. For her, this was purely a delight for she found the admiration of her peers to be useless in status and accomplishment. It was this reason that gave her cause to focus her energies in self-improvement, better education, and Christian generosity.
Little did she know that others were attending to her actions and taking notice of what she was about.
